Damned if You Do and Damned if You Don't

It's probably been well over four years since I left the path of Sant Mat.

Now I could say this:

Since I left the path my life has been chaos and everything seems to go wrong. I feel haunted by the fact that I have left the Master's grace.

A satsangi's response to the above could be something like:

The Master will pull the disciple in and drag him by the hair if need be to get him to do his meditation. He can never leave the path.......

Or

Through harsh daily karmas the disciple will have to clear his debts whether he meditates or not.....

Now the truth:

Since I have left the path it was tough for a few years trying to clear my mind of all the Sant Mat dogma but now through Jesus Christ's grace, I have never been happier or more peaceful or more loving (especially to my family).

A satsangi's response to the above could be something like:

Even if he doesn't meditate the master will align his next lifetime with more suitable conditions.

Or

He's just using up all his valuable accumulated good karma from his meditation practice and that's why his life is so good.

My point being is that Sant Mat no matter what happens has an excuse for every conceivable outcome.

Whether I'm happy or wretched the Sant Mat teachings have an "answer".

So with Sant Mat I'm damned if I do tell you the Truth and I'm damned if I don't.

I'm not writing many blogs anymore as I have outlined to the best of my knowledge that this path is one very unhappy ride full of lies and deceit.

Gurinder Singh is just a normal guy full of weaknesses and problems just like you and me although he lacks the saving power and grace of Jesus Christ. Oh for the shock when he meets his Maker and has to account for all the souls he has lead into pain and confusion. On the other hand, if he gave his heart to Jesus Christ he would be forgiven as God's Grace accepts all no matter what they have done. But he needs to repent and ask for God's forgiveness first.

That's my prayer.

I Finally Broke Free - Email from Reader

Hi Sean, I'm glad I have a chance to email you personally. I commented on one of your blog posts, and also commented on your youtube channel, but this is probably the most expedient way to reach you.

I never thought I would find an ex-satsangi who embraced Jesus Christ and Christianity. I've been searching online for a long time, and the ex's I would find were either fed up with religion entirely, totally cynical about any religious path, or very, very agnostic. Obviously, they have been very hurt by organized religion, and made the decision to reject all of it from the fear of being hurt yet again.

I was fortunate enough to have had a Christian background before Sant mat, and even though it took years, was very painful, and included so much inner conflict and confusion, I finally broke free of Sant Mat, and re-embraced my love of Jesus Christ. It was the hardest thing I have ever done, made even more difficult due to the fact that my husband is still a devoted follower. I should say here that we were initiated by Darshan Singh whose successor is Rajinder Singh. This branch of Sant Mat calls itself Science of the Soul. My husband is very open minded and is fine with my Christian journey (although at first he was very confused about why in the world I would question the integrity of Sant Mat, and hurt by my defection.)

I was very, very hurt by this path, and I believe it led to problematic issues in our marriage. The Holy Spirit has helped me so much in this regard. He always counsels patience and compassion, and to truly listen to my husband. He is such a good man, the finest man I know, and he loves Jesus as well, but does not embrace him as his only spiritual teacher. My husband is an interesting mix: in love with his Master, but also in love with Jesus. I myself was never able to juggle these feelings, and finally had a spiritual breakdown where I thought I would have to abandon Jesus if I were to remain on the path. I could NOT do that, and I'm so grateful I couldn't.
